Universidad de Concepción Theatre during the Popular Unit
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research was specifically focused on the theatre of Universidad de
Concepción during the Popular Unit period (1970-1973). The objective was to
analyze social imaginaries of democracy and scenic art present in this artistic
group of southern Chile. By applying deep interviews to key actors, as an
instrument to collect data, and through a qualitative analysis with the ATLAS/
TI Show, it was possible to establish that social imaginary of art and democracy
were part of a political project where art was part of the regeneration proposed
by the left-wing politics of that period.
