Abstract
This article inquires about the meaning of the concepts enterprise and entrepreneur from within the lexical and etymological analyses in Spanish, French and English on one hand, while on the other, from within the theoretical approaches of two of the most influential economical thinkers in matters of the construction of suchconcepts, Richard Cantillon and Joseph Schumpeter, whose reflections are from the 18th and the 20th centuries respectively
