Abstract
The active employment policies aim at contributing to the increase in possibilities for the immigrants’ labor incorporation and continuation, while combining flexibility and safety
at the job. The objective of this paper is to inquire into the fundamental aspects of labor policies for immigrants in Spain through the knowledge of the structured initiatives and strategies in
meant to grant the immigrants social and labor integration opportunities. The a metodological based upon the qualitative and quantitative analyses of the legislation contents and approach was the plans and programs of the public institutions that are responsible
for the employment policy. The most significant result has been the approximation to the characteristics of the active employment policies for the immigrants and their possible effects on the current inequalities in the labor market, taking into consideration the heterogeneity of the various collectivities that participate in this market.
