Abstract

Liberal Republic (1930-1946) has been recognized by the intents of social trans­formation, although its depth and impact in society may be questioned. Transformation purposes intent to adapt the country to the challenges of both industrial capitalism and intellectual modernity. In this framework of changes, amendment of discourses and cultural practices have been proposed for the modernization of the country and, with this, the evident progress it could bring, expectation in progress, the advancement toward models of social organization which demanded modifications in the conscience of individuals, so they could incorporate the new projects. Discourse and cultural prac­tice search, in this way, the modification of individual’s ideas in order to add them to the projects and reforms in progress
