Resumen

El objetivo de la investigación es analizar la relación que existe entre el comercio intra-industrial (CII) y las variaciones del empleo para la industria colombiana durante el periodo 1991-2015, poniendo a prueba la Hipótesis del Ajuste Suave (HAS) por primera vez en Colombia. Para ello se hace uso del índice A de Brülhart que permite medir el comercio intra-industrial marginal y también de índices que discriminan la naturaleza vertical y horizontal del CII; también se estiman modelos de panel estáticos y dinámicos. Dentro de los principales resultados se obtuvo que las estimaciones son consistentes con la HAS, lo que en términos de política económica implica que a medida en que Colombia incremente sus intercambios comerciales a nivel intra-industrial los costos de ajuste serán menores.
