ECONOMIC GROWTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT: an analytical review of the hypothesis of the environmental Kuznets curve

Abstract
The hipothesis of Kuznets’ Environmenal Curve explores the existing
relationship between the economical growth and the environmental quality, in an attempt to show that on the short run, the economical growth generates a greater enviromental deterioritation while on the long run, the richer the economies get, the more beneficial the economical growth becomes for the environment, that is, the quality of the environment improves with the increase of income.
