Abstract
 'La tolerancia en la historia' del profesor AnÂdrés Botero, constituye un texto docente, fruto de un resultado de investigación, de obligada consulta para aquellos lectores que deseen acercarse al entendimiento del concepto de la tolerancia en las diferentes etapas históricas y la evolución del debate en la contemporaneidad; de allí su enfoque, principalmente, descriptivo. Según señala el autor, el 'texto presenta a los estudiantes (pues se trata de un texto de divulÂgación científica) parte de los resultados de una indagación que ha llevado más de dos años de trabajo sobre el discurso iusfilosófico en torno a la tolerancia' (p. 13). No obstante esta presenÂtación, no renuncia a una perspectiva crítica y propositiva que aparece en el desarrollo de las temáticas y se evidencia con más claridad en el apartado de conclusiones ubicado al final de cada capítulo.
