Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective is to analyze the current problems and the environmental impacts of the Brazilian energy matrix and some alternatives for diversification. The methodology used was the bibliographical and documentary research in national and foreign authors, as well as technical studies and other fields of knowledge beyond legal, because of the transdisciplinary nature of the subject. The paper results understand that the Brazilian energy basis is not sustainable and that the decision-makers and the society shall implement an energy transition to alternative renewable energy sources and also need public policies to diminish consumption. There must not be one single choice of source, but decide based on determining the impacts from renewables and on evaluating its pros and cos.
