Abstract
 La obra es novedosa y puede aportar conocimiento incluso a los más versados. El espíritu investigador de las autoras prevalece en ella y trae nuevos conceptos, fruto de un trabajo serio de investigación. Los temas más complejos se hacen sencillos con su aproximación pedagógica al abordarlos. Consta de cuatro (4) capítulos y de cuatro (4) anexos, que tratan su objeto en forma completa y se pueden entender sin necesidad de leer los otros, aunque sus datos pueden interrelacionarse, como sucede con los indicadores mundiales (Capítulo I), que se pueden contrastar con los datos de patentamiento en Colombia (Capítulo III), y estos con la actividad patentaria en Antioquia (capítulo IV).
