Abstract
 El panorama histórico nacional de Colombia está claramente definido durante el siglo XX en dos apartados generales: la primera mitad, caracterizada por la hegemonía partidista entre conservadores los primeros treinta años y, posÂteriormente, la república liberal hasta 1946 con interregno que se ha denominado La Violencia para dar pie al Frente Nacional, ya en la segunÂda mitad del siglo. Estos bloques cronológicos definen también la forma en la que se han acerÂcado los estudiosos de los fenómenos sociales y humanos para la comprensión y descripción de eventos; su interés se define en razón de los eventos y consecuencias producidas en cada período de tiempo y espacio regional.
